CONTEST: Guess the New Top 10s and Win!

CONTEST: Guess the New Top 10s and Win!

The wait is almost over! The official list of U.S. Most Popular Names of 2017 will be released on twitter by the Social Security Administration on Friday, May 11 at 9:05 am ET

And so in advance of the imminent announcement, which of course we’re all awaiting with bated breath, we’re challenging you to predict which names you think will come out on top. Will Noah be the Number 1 boy name for the fifth straight year or will there be a new lad in first place? And will Emma be replaced after three years in the lead by one of her recent competitors—Olivia, Sophia, Ava, Isabella—or by a new girl in town?

What about the rest of the Top 10? How do you see the order shifting? Which names will drop off or jump onto the Top 10 for girls and boys? As a reminder, here were the leading names last year:

Girls

  1. Emma

  2. Olivia

  3. Ava

  4. Sophia

  5. Isabella

  6. Mia

  7. Charlotte

  8. Abigail

  9. Emily

  10. Harper

Boys

  2.  Liam

  3. William

  4. Mason

  5. James

  6. Benjamin

  7. Jacob

  8. Michael

  10. Ethan

The first person to guess the Top 10 girls and Top 10 boys in the correct order will win the prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate.

So don’t delay—get your predictions in on the comments below asap!! Contest ends on the morning of May 11, immediately before the big announcement!

If no one guesses the correct Top 10s, we’ll award the prize to the person who in our opinion comes closest.
