      The added h turns Anita alluring and breathy.
  2. Harley
    • Origin:

    • Meaning:

      "the long field"
    • Description:

      Once a macho biker name, Harley is now showing its softer side. In the UK, Harley is predominantly masculine, but it's currently more popular for girls than boys in the US.
  3. Hadanna

        Hawaiian
      • Meaning:

        "wind"
      • Description:

        The sources that do list this name give it as a boys' name, but Woody Harrelson chose it for his daughter, and it does have a feminine lilt.
    • Megumi
      • Origin:

        Japanese
      • Meaning:

        "blessing"
      • Description:

        An Asian name not widely known in the West.
    • Nairobi
      • Origin:

        African place-name, Maasi
      • Meaning:

        "cold water"
      • Description:

        Kenya is fairly commonly heard as a girl's name, but its capital city makes a much more exceptional choice. The name comes from the Maasai phrase "Enkare Nairobi," which translates to "cold water." Nairobi is popularly known as the Green City.

        "born on Sunday"
      • Description:

        Nedra was one of a phalanx of names -- Delma, Verda, Vernice -- popular in the late 19th and early 20th century that dropped out of fashion after World War II and now have disappeared completely. Like the others, Nedra is now extinct.

      • Description:

        A classic name with regal elegance--Queen Victoria, like other queens, had Regina appended to her name. She was a Top 100 name in the 1960s.
