A fantasy story inspired by Chinese dynasties for Camp NaNo April 2020. Not historical fiction/fantasy. |--|--| Commoner and adopted granddaughter of farmers, Xia knows there is something more to her past than the vague explanations give to her by her Uncle Hao. With a few clues such as a jade pendant and an uncle with a little too much knowledge of the inner workings of the palace, Xia sets out to become a palace maid. In the palace, she makes allies and more enemies than she can handle alone.
