Agron Origin and Meaning

The name Agron is a boy's name meaning "dawn; field".

Popular in Albania, Agron is a name of uncertain meaning, however theories include that it derives from the Albanian ag meaning "dawn" or the Greek agros meaning "fields."

It was the name of a 3rd century Illyrian king, introduced as Agron, "so-called he who was born in the countryside", which may give lend credence to the "fields" meaning. Other sources however link it to Akron or Acron, meaning "elevation".
