Germanic, meaning unknown

Rasso Origin and Meaning

The name Rasso is a boy's name .

A rare but highly usable saintly name. Saint Rasso of Andrechs was a tenth-century nobleman and military leader in Bavaria (in modern-day Germany). He fought against the Magyars, and in later life went on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and founded a monastery back home — where he was later venerated as a saint.

The exact origin of his name is not known, but it may be a diminutive of a Germanic name with the element rat or rad, meaning "advice", such as Ratmund or Radulf.

Rasso is unused in modern times, but it has the same vigor as names like Rocco and Otto, and would make an interesting unique choice.
