Rohan
Rohan Origin and Meaning
Simultaneously a name of Hindi and Sanskrit origin, a spelling variation of the popular Rowan and an anglicized form of Irish Ruadhán, Rohan is a cross-cultural choice.
As a Hindu name, it is associated with the deity Sri Vishnu, while more generally, it means "ascending" in Sanskrit and Urdu. As an Irish and Scottish name, it means "red, red-haired", although English influence has led to it being associated with the rowan tree.
Other possible meanings include "accompanying dew" or "rich, prosperous" in Japanese, along with "spiritual" or "compassionate" from the Arabic name Ruhan.
Currently in the US Top 1000, albeit near the latter end, it is also popular in the UK where it sits in the Top 300.
