Asena Origin and Meaning

Used in Turkey and Azerbaijan, Asena derives from Turkic mythology. In the Gokturk foundation myth, Asena was a she-wolfwho gave birth to the ancestor of Ashina tribe, who went on to rule over the Göktürk and other Turkic nomadic empires.
