Xion Origin and Meaning

The name Xion is a girl's name meaning "tide, aster + remembrance; highest point".

The name Xion has two separate origins, the first being from the Japanese unisex name, Shion. Comprised of elements meaning "tide", "aster", and "I remember", the Xion spelling was used for a female character in popular game franchise, Kingdom Hearts.

The second origin is from the Hebrew name, Zion, a Biblical place name and used to refer to the Jewish homeland. Currently a popular choice for boys, the name is also given to around 130 girls each year and has featured on the US Top 1000 in the past.

Xion is also used predominantly on boys, however, it has been given to around 60 girls since the 2000s.
