The Most Popular Baby Names of the Future

What will be the most popular baby names of the future?

Which names will rise the fastest and which will fall? What unexpected names do we see gaining popularity? And what major baby name trends do we see emerging in the ten years ahead?

To find out, we developed a proprietary formula that revealed the Top 100 girl and boy names of 2035.

Top Baby Names 2035

The most popular names ten years from now will include some familiar choices still ranking in the Top 10, along with unexpected newcomers. We see Charlotte, the upwardly mobile name that entered the US Top 10 in 2014, finally rising to Number 1 for girls. On the boys' side, Oliver — a former top pick across the pond — will claim the Number 1 spot.

We predict that six of the names in the girls’ Top 10 and four in the boys’ will be new entrants. Names new to the Top 10 in 2035 are marked with an asterisk.

Fastest Rising Girl Names 2035

These include a whopping seven "A Sandwich names", such as Aurelia, Alora, and Amira; fresh botanical choices like Cataleya, Poppy, and Magnolia; nouveau spiritual names including Selah, Evangeline, and Shiloh; and rising gender-neutral names such as Navy, Palmer, and Blair.

Among the most pronounced trends will be Global Americana names — choices meant to celebrate a child's cultural identity and heritage. These names may be distinctly tied to a single culture, like the Spanish Aitana and Cataleya, or be Traveling Lite names used in various languages, such as Samara, Kaia, and Amaya.

Of the names already in the Top 100 as of 2023, the ones that will rise the most between now and 2035 are Eloise, Maeve, Eden, Iris, and Sadie.

Fastest Rising Boy Names 2035

According to our formula, 36 new boy names will rank within the Top 100 of 2035 that are outside of the Top 100 today. Cowboy names will continue to go strong, with choices like Bodie, Sonny, and Colter. Other trends include tailored traditionals such as George, Dean, and Leon; myth and romance names including Romeo, Adonis, and Atlas; and like the girls, Global Americana names such as Koa, Elian, and Amari.

Notably, the significant Muslim name Muhammad will join the US Top 100 for the first time by 2035. Muhammad is the most common male name globally and recently earned its spot as Number 1 in England and Wales. It's currently on the rise elsewhere in Europe and North America.

The names that are currently in the Top 100 that we predict will rise the most between now and 2035 are Silas, Thiago, Beau, Enzo, and Brooks.

Of the names that will remain in the Top 100 in 2035, the ones that will fall the furthest between now and then will be Harper, Victoria, Grace, Chloe, and Scarlett.

Fastest Falling Boy Names 2035

The 36 boy names to drop out of the Top 100 by 2035 fall into the same general categories as the girl names. We'll say goodbye to top Gen Z names Jackson, Mason, and Jayden in the decade to come, as well as 2010s names past their prime like Mason, Lincoln, and Easton, and traditional boy names from the bible Josiah, Joshua, and Jeremiah.

The fastest falling names that will stay in the Top 100 in 2035 will be Hudson, Logan, Ezekiel, Gabriel, and Anthony.
