But if you’re expecting a baby at the end of 2019 or in 2020, you’re probably more concerned about which names are going to pop in the 2020s. What names are the Margot and Magnus, the Arya and Azariah of the next ten years?
To find out, we analyzed the 500+ names we identified as appearing among the Social Security Top 1000 baby names at the end of this decade that weren’t there at the end of the last. What traits did they have in common, and what trajectory did they share? And which names share those traits now and so are likely to p0p over the next decade?
Expectant parents might want to use this list as a guide to names that are distinctive now but that will feel more stylish and in step with the times in the future. Or parents in search of rare names likely to stay uncommon will want to avoid these choice.
