Celebrity Baby Name Trends of 2024

Celebrity Baby Name Trends of 2024

And that’s a wrap on the celebrity names of 2024. This year saw dozens of surprising, unique, and otherwise notable celebrity baby names, including Whimsy Lou, Jack Blues, and Méi June.

A significant subset of stars chose not to reveal their children's names in 2024. We're anxiously awaiting the baby names of Margot Robbie, Cardi B, and perhaps most of all, Elon Musk, who welcomed his 12th baby this year.

As undisputable tastemakers and baby name influencers, the names celebrities choose for their children today often impact what the rest of the country will name their babies tomorrow. We noticed several trends among 2024 celebrity baby names that are likely to catch on among American parents.

Below, the biggest celebrity name trends of 2024.

Double Nature Names

Botanical names proved especially popular with celebs in 2024, with floral picks like Rose, Clover, and Violet featuring among nearly 10% of the celebrity baby names we recorded this year. But a subset of stars were inspired by the natural world twice over and doubled up on evocative, picturesque nature names.

Eila Violet — Erin Heatherton & Karol Kocemba

Hartt Summitt — Candace Parker & Anna Petrakova

Kaia Autumn Skye — Vanessa Morgan & James Karnik

Rio Rose — Emily VanCamp & Josh Bowman

River Rose — Natalie Joy & Nick Viall

Rowen Lily — Clare Crawley & Ryan Dawkins

Baby Men & Women Names

We predicted that Baby Men & Women names would be one of the biggest name trends of 2024, and the celebrisphere proved us right. These formal, "adult"-sounding names were the fastest-growing trend among celebrity baby namers this year.

Abram Howell — Amber Cochran & Brantley Gilbert

Anne — Mindy Kaling

Arthur James — LA Thoma & Grant Gustin

Archibald Felix — Shannon Nelson & Brendan Hunt

Bernadette Maxine — Amber Stevens West & Andrew J. West

Darla Rose — Jasmine & Brett Roth

Joan Almond — Cayley & Brandon Jenner

Louise Everett — Mandy Moore & Taylor Goldsmith

Fast Fashion Names

Fast Fashion Names lead our roster of baby name trends 2025, but many celebrities got a head start on the trend this year. These names are created to be totally unique, yet eminently wearable. Some stars added extra letters to existing names — turning Boyd into Boydd and feminizing Everett as Everette. Others swapped initials or even combined names to invent a one-of-a-kind smoosh, like SantiGold.

Boydd — Jessica Parker Kennedy & Ronen Rubinstein

Everette Rae — Sarah Herron & Dylan Brown

Hartt Summitt — Candace Parker & Anna Petrakova

Kace & Kyren — Julie & Zach Ertz

Klarity Doll — Kash Doll & Tracy T

Kova Jade — Emily & Baker Mayfield

Krewe Allen — Katelyn & Kane Brown

SantiGold — Elaine Welteroth & Jonathan Singletary

Alliterative & Assonantal Combos

Alliteration and assonance add a bounciness to a full name combination and can make for a memorable moniker. It's also a great way to add impact, whether you're going for something clearly cute — a la Mirabella May — or super strong, like Caius Chai.

Beckham Blue — Savannah & Cole LaBrant

Caius Chai — Ayesha & Steph Curry

Ford Fitzgerald — Katherine Schwarzenegger & Chris Pratt

Jagger Jerry — Michelle Wie & Jonnie West

Kareem Kenkaide — Ashanti & Nelly

Luna Lucia — Lauren & Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino

Milan Maksim — Peta Murgatroyd & Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Mirabella May — Audrey & Jeremy Roloff

Pesce Pearl — Bethany C. Meyers & Nico Tortorella

Rio Rose — Emily VanCamp & Josh Bowman

River Rose — Natalie Joy & Nick Viall

Stevie Sky — Kristin Hodge & Jon M. Chu

Unexpected Word Names

Unusual, unexpected word names are a classic starbaby name category, but the celebrity parents of 2024 were especially creative with their choices. This year, stars introduced brand new word names to the baby name lexicon, including Whimsy, Locket, and Brother (yes, really).

Brother Laszlo — Mia & Darren Criss

Cardinal — Cameron Diaz & Benji Madden

Joan Almond — Cayley & Brandon Jenner

Klarity Doll — Kash Doll & Tracy T

Locket Romance & Poetry Lucia — Francesca Farago & Jesse Sullivan

Shy Trinity Afua — Adwoa Aboah & Daniel Wheatley

Whimsy Lou — Nara & Lucky Blue Smith

Most Common Celebrity Baby Names 2024

We added more than 90 starbabies to our celebrity baby name database in 2024, with few name repeats. Three names were used twice as first names — Beckham, Jack, and Townes.

Beckham

Beckham Blue — Savannah & Cole LaBrant

Beckham Gene — Brooke Eden & Hilary Hoover

Jack

Jack Blues — Hailey & Justin Bieber

Jack Francis — Aly Michalka & Stephen Ringer

Townes

Townes Alexander — Lauren & Alexander Ludwig

Townes Meadow — Hilary Duff & Matthew Koma

Name to Watch: Townes

Blues made our shortlist of names to watch, but the most influential celebrity baby name of the year is going to be Townes.

Plural names are one of the hottest mainstream baby name trends, and newcomer Townes was used by two influential stars this year — Alexander Ludwig and Hilary Duff. Duff has a reputation for popularizing her name choices. Banks soared onto the Top 1000 (for boys) after she gave it to her oldest daughter. Townes is going to follow a similar path, and will be a name on parents' shortlists for years to come.

Along with Townes, we expect other plural names — particularly those with municipal ties — to gain popularity over the next few years. These include the already fashionable Banks and Rhodes as well as Bridges, Parks, and even Mills.
