Legend of Zelda Baby Names

names, places, and more from all of the Legend of Zelda games. Many of these names are unisex, so I just put it as what it is in the game or what I would choose it as, but don’t let that limit you! I tried to keep some of the weirder names out, but some of the main characters with odd names I kept for being so notorious to the game.
  1. Agitha
    • Beetle
      • Chancellor
        • Origin:

          English
        • Meaning:

          "chief secretary"
        • Description:

Of the names derived from titles, this is one of the least obvious (unless you are of German extraction). Chancellor also has the attraction of offering the exciting - and very on-trend - nickname Chance.
      • Cia
        • Origin:

          Diminutive of Cynthia
        • Description:

What's Cia short for? Cynthia or most any other C-name. Stylish in its sleek Mia-Nia minimalist feel, but may remind some of the Central Intelligence Agency.
      • Cole
        • Origin:

          English
        • Meaning:

          "swarthy, coal black"
        • Description:

Cole -- a short name that embodies a lot of richness and depth -- has long been associated with the great songwriter Cole Porter. It's quite popular in Scotland.
      • Ciela
        • Daltus
          • Daphnes
            • Eldin
              • Epona
                • Fairy
                  • Origin:

                    English word name
                  • Meaning:

                    "fairy"
                  • Description:

Fairy's reputation as a slur directed at gay men takes it off the table as a baby name option. Go with Pixie or Faye instead.
                • Faron
                  • Origin:

                    English
                  • Meaning:

                    "handsome servant"
                  • Description:

Faron, a soft and gentle name, has a diverse group of references. There was the medieval Saint Faron, Bishop of Meaux (who has given his name to a cheese); Faron Young, a colorful midcentury country singer known as The Hillbilly Heartthrob, and a character from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
                • Floria
                  • Fi
                    • Ganon
                      • Ghirahim
                        • Hilda
                          • Origin:

                            German
                          • Meaning:

                            "battle woman"
                          • Description:

Short for Brunhilda, the operatic Valkyrie of Teutonic legend, Hilda still has not quite shaken off that image that image. Though with the resurgence of Matilda, she might just have a bit of a comeback.
                        • Hylia
                          • Hylian
                            • Ilia
                              • Origin:

Variation of Iliana or Julia, Greek, Basque, Bulgarian "from Illium or Troy; youthful or sky father; Yahweh is God"
                              • Meaning:

"from Illium or Troy; youthful or sky father; Yahweh is God"
                              • Description:

Three syllables in only four letters is quite a feat, but that's exactly what you get with Ilia, a versatile, unisex option with various origins. It could derive from the Greek Iliana, which could denote someone from Illium, or it could be a feminine form of Ilian, a form of Elijah. Alternatively, it is a Basque form of Julia, or a Bulgarian feminine form of Ilya, with again links back to Elijah. Currently a gender neutral option in the US, it may be exclusively masculine elsewhere.
