Here Are Cute Places Names

Here’s a few of my all time favorite cute place names that you should consider.
  1. Aden
    • Origin:

      Variation of Aidan, Irish
    • Meaning:

      "little and fiery"
    • Description:

Although this variation is less popular than ultra-trendy Aiden, this simplified spelling doesn't do anything for the name.
  2. Arabia
    • Origin:

      Place-name
    • Description:

A phonetically attractive place-name that can be used for babies but rarely is.
  3. Cali
    • Origin:

      Diminutive of any Cal- name
    • Description:

A short form that is given on its own to a good number of baby girls each year — Cali has been on trend in recent years along with sister names Callie and Kali, as the popular 90s and early 2000s nickname Allie has felt less fresh. The Cali spelling in particular also brings to mind the sunny state of California and all of the beachy imagery that follows.
  4. Caspian
    • Origin:

      Place name
    • Meaning:

      "white"
    • Description:

One of the most romantic of appellations, Caspian is a geographical name referring to the large salty sea between Asia and Europe. It's also the name of the hero of C.S. Lewis's beloved Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian.
  5. Egypt
    • Origin:

      Place-name
    • Description:

We had Egypt listed as a girls-only place-name until singer Alicia Keys and rap producer husband Swizz Beatz used it for their son...and why not? Egypt certainly works as well for a boy as for a girl.
  6. Estonia
    • Garland
      • Origin:

        English word name
      • Description:

A surprisingly wearable floral name for a boy.
    • Geneva
      • Origin:

        Swiss place-name or French
      • Meaning:

        "juniper tree"
      • Description:

Unlike its somewhat formal Swiss city namesake, this is a lively and appealing place-name that also has a real history as a female name.
    • Indiana
      • Origin:

        American place-name
      • Meaning:

        "land of the Indians"
      • Description:

Indiana is one of those place-names (think Camden and Trenton) that sounds cooler than the place that inspired it. Its fashionable -ana ending certainly sounds eminently name-like, and Indie/Indy/Indi is one of the hottest nickname names for girls right now.
    • Indus
      • Origin:

        Place name
      • Description:

From the name of the river which flows through Pakistan, India, and Tibet.
    • Jupiter
      • Origin:

        Latin
      • Meaning:

        "godfather"
      • Description:

Jupiter may be known as the father of all the gods, but it's baby girls who have claimed his name for their own. Mythological and celestial baby names are hot across the board, so Jupiter was bound to rise in popularity. But the reason it's currently mostly female in the US is thanks to its similarities to the trendy feminine name Juniper.
    • Janeiro
      • Kauai
        • Origin:

          Hawaiian place-name
        • Description:

Kauai is known as the Garden Isle of Hawaii. Ironically, it qualifies as a baby name based on spelling variation and homonym Kawhi, as in basketball star Kawhi Leonard.
      • Kendari
        • Leone
          • Origin:

            Latin
          • Meaning:

            "lioness"
          • Description:

With male version Leon taking off all over Europe, the female variations, from Leona to Leonie to Leone, are coming back into style too.
        • Lyon
          • Origin:

            French
          • Meaning:

            "lion"
          • Description:

The y makes it seem more like a name and less like an animal, but it's still not as appealing as several Leo choices.
        • Milan
          • Origin:

            Italian place name, Slavic, Sanskrit
          • Meaning:

            "gracious, dear; union"
          • Description:

As Mila rises for girls, so Milan is becoming a more popular option for boys, especially after singer Shakira chose it for her son. After a 55-year hiatus, it reentered the Top 1000 in 2013 and is heading dramatically upward.
        • Milan
          • Origin:

            Italian place name or Slavic
          • Meaning:

            "gracious, dear"
          • Description:

In many Slavic and other European countries, Milan is purely a boys’ name, but in the US, it's also popular for girls – no doubt inspired by the fashionable Italian city. It entered the Top 1000 for boys in 2013, while for girls it has been in the Top 1000 since 2009.
        • Phoenix
          • Origin:

            Arizona place-name and Greek
          • Meaning:

            "dark red"
          • Description:

Effortlessly cool with a hint of the mystical, Phoenix rolls a lot of trends into one: it's a place-name and a bird name, it ends in the stylish letter x, it's got in-built nicknames, and it's unisex too. Familiar but not over-popular, Phoenix ranks in the US and UK Top 1000s.
        • Phoenix
          • Origin:

            Arizona place name and Greek
          • Meaning:

            "dark red"
          • Description:

Phoenix is a New Age name symbolizing rebirth and immortality. It's also a place name, a color name, a mythological name, AND an animal name, combining several of today's hottest trends in one appealing package.
